The invention relates to a reinforced support bra suitable for sports.
There are essentially two types of bra adapted for sports, namely the compression bra and the encapsulation bra.
The compression bra has a frontal part, generally in the shape of a band, which compresses the chest to limit its movements and oscillations.
This type of bra is perceived as uncomfortable by users.
In addition, by compressing the chest, this type of bra can damage the chest.
The encapsulation bra has a first cap and a second cap to wrap each breast and thus act independently on the movements of each breast.
This type of bra does not compress the breast and respects the health of the breast.
Whether compression or encapsulation, the bra has a front part, in contact with the chest, which is generally made by molding or sewing.
By molding, the front part of the bra is set in volume by a molding process, such as thermomolding, of one or more materials, in particular textile materials.
By sewing, the front part of the bra is set in volume by a traditional confection of one or more pieces of textile material which are arranged according to their mechanical properties.
In addition, it is known to reinforce the front part by adding resin or accessories of the armature type, whatever the manufacturing process.
These different types of bras, to be effective and suitable for sports, require complex and heavy manufacturing due to the multiplicity of materials used and their manufacturing process.
The present invention aims in particular to resolve these drawbacks and to do this relates to a bra suitable for sports, of the type comprising:
a first cap and a second cap which belong to a front front part of the bra and which are each delimited laterally by an outer edge and by an inner edge, and
- a dorsal fixing strip which is connected to the outer edge of the first cap and to the outer edge of the second cap, characterized in that each cap is equipped with a holding structure and a basic structure, the structure of support comprising at least a first retaining strip of generally cradle shape which is elastically deformable and which extends at least from the outer edge to the inner edge of the associated cup, to support the chest.
The bra according to the invention makes it possible to limit the mass of materials necessary for its manufacture while guaranteeing effective support for the chest.
In addition, the elongated holding elements, by their slender shape and their elasticity, contribute to the comfort, lightness, aesthetics and ergonomics of the bra.
According to a preferred embodiment, the retaining structure comprises at least a second retaining strip of generally cradle shape which is elastically deformable and which extends at least from the outer edge to the inner edge of the associated cup, to support the chest, the first strip and the second strip being arranged to be crossed to form a support mesh area on each cup.
The crossing of the bands allows an interaction between the bands and makes it possible to create "hooking points" participating in the maintenance of the chest.
Preferably, the mesh area is arranged in at least one lower half of each cup.
According to another aspect, the first retaining strip is formed of a first series of elongated elements which are elastically deformable and which extend generally parallel to one another, and in that the second retaining strip is formed of a second series of elongated elements which are elastically deformable and which extend generally parallel to one another.
Advantageously, the first strip is, at least in part, common to the first cap and to the second cap.
This characteristic favors the production of the first strip.
According to another characteristic, the first band and the second band form a central reinforcement zone in which said bands are crossed, said central reinforcement zone being arranged in an upper central part of said front part of the bra, to support the chest. .
The crossing of the bands allows an interaction between the bands and makes it possible to create "hooking points" participating in the maintenance of the chest.
Also, the bra has a plane of symmetry of general design which extends vertically between the first cup and the second cup.
The invention also relates to a method of manufacturing a bra of the type comprising at least:
- an assembly step which consists in assembling the first strip and the second strip of the support structure on the base structure, and
- a molding step which consists in molding the assembly constituted by the base structure and the holding structure, to form the front part of the bra.
According to a first embodiment of the method, the assembly step consists in bringing the first band and the second band by screen printing onto the basic structure of the bra.
According to a second embodiment of the method, the assembly step consists in assembling the front part of the bra which comprises a superposition of a front front layer, a rear layer and an intermediate layer, the intermediate layer forming the internal holding structure.
In this second mode, said layers are assembled by heat sealing.
According to a third embodiment of the method, the assembly step consists in embroidering the first band and the second band on the basic structure of the bra.
According to an alternative embodiment, the method comprises a single molding step which consists in simultaneously molding the base structure and the holding structure, to form the front part of the brassiere.
Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear on reading the following detailed description for the understanding of which reference will be made to the appended drawings in which:
- Figure 1 is an overall front view which illustrates a brassiere whose cups are equipped with elongate holding elements according to the invention;
- Figure 2 is an overall front view similar to that of Figure 1, which illustrates the areas of action of the elongated elements;
- Figure 3 is a side view, which illustrates the shape of the cups and the dorsal attachment band of the bra.
In the present application, the terms “top”, “bottom”, “upper”, “lower” and their derivatives refer to the position or the orientation of an element, this position or this orientation being considered when the support -throat is worn by a standing user.
In addition, to clarify the description and the claims, the longitudinal, vertical and transverse terminology will be adopted without limitation, with reference to the trihedron L, V, T indicated in the figures.
In all of these figures, identical or analogous references represent identical or analogous organs or sets of organs.
There is shown in Figure 1 a bra 10 suitable for sports, which is shown in a configuration worn by a standing person.
The brassiere 10 has a first cup 12a and a second cup 12b which belong to a front part 13 before the brassiere 10.
The two cups 12a, 12b are aligned transversely and are arranged on either side of a plane P of vertical symmetry of general design of the bra 10, visible in FIG. 1.
To facilitate understanding of the description, the identical and symmetrical elements along the plane P of symmetry are distinguished by a numerical reference followed by the letter "a" or "b".
Each cup 12a, 12b is delimited transversely by an outer edge 14a, 14b and by an inner edge 16a, 16b respectively.
In addition, each cup 12a, 12b has a generally hemispherical shape, with convexity oriented towards the front in a longitudinal direction.
The bra 10 comprises a dorsal fastening strip 18, visible in FIG. 3, which is here composed of a first panel 20a and a second panel 20b which can be connected together at the back of the user by a removable attachment means (not shown) of the staple type and with complementary notches, for example.
The first section 20a of the fastening strip 18 is connected to the outer edge 14a of the first cup 12a and the second side 20b of the fixing strip 18 is connected to the outside edge 14b of the second cup 12b.
Without limitation, the bra 10 can also be designed to be attached from the front, between the two cups 12a, 12b, according to a design example not shown.
Likewise, the bra 10 can be made of a tube without attachment means, to be put on by the head.
The dorsal fastening strip 18 is made of stretch knit in a transverse direction corresponding to its great length, for example.
In addition, the bra 10 is equipped with a pair of straps 24a, 24b which are designed to support the bra 10 on the shoulders of the user.
According to the invention, each cup 12a, 12b is equipped with a holding structure attached to a base structure 11 which forms the framework of the bra 10. The base structure 11 is for example made of knitted fabric.
The retaining structure of each cup 12a, 12b comprises a first strip 25a, 25b and a second retaining strip 27a, 27b respectively which are each of generally barrel shape, that is to say of concave curved shape of concavity oriented generally towards the top.
The first bands 25a, 25b and the second bands 27a, 27b are elastically deformable and they extend from the outer edge 14a, 14b respectively of the associated cap 12a, 12b, to the inner edge 16a, 16b respectively of the cap 12a, 12b associated, to support the chest.
In addition, the first retaining bands 25a, 25b are formed of a first series of elongated elements 28a, 28b respectively, which are elastically deformable and which extend generally parallel to one another, and the second bands 27a, 27b holding are formed of a second series of elongated elements 30a, 30b respectively which are elastically deformable and which extend generally parallel to each other.
By elongated element is meant any elongated element, such as a strip or a wire for example.
Also, the elongated elements 28a, 28b, 30a, 30b may have different elasticities.
The elongated elements 28a, 28b of the first series, six in number according to the embodiment described here, are superimposed and include three elongated elements 28a, 28b upper which each have an upper section 32a, 32b which extends generally vertically from the base of the strap 24a, 24b.
The upper sections 32a, 32b thus constitute a support hanger which works generally vertically as illustrated by the arrows F1, to support the cups 12a, 12b respectively, participating in the maintenance of the chest.
In addition, as can be seen in FIG. 2, the upper elongated elements 28a, 28b of the first series each have an internal section 34a, 34b which extends generally transversely from the plane P of central symmetry, so that the elongated elements 28a, 28b upper of the first series are common to the first cup 12a and to the second cup 12b.
According to another aspect, the elongated elements 30a, 30b of the second series, also six in number according to the embodiment described here, are superimposed and include five elongated elements 30a, 30b which each have an upper section which extends obliquely from the neck 38 of the bra 10, so that the upper sections belonging to the first cup 12a and the upper sections belonging to the second cup 12b form a central reinforcement zone Z1 in which these elongated elements are crossed at X to favor the maintenance in the center of the bra 10, as illustrated by the arrows F3.
Advantageously, each crossing between two elongated elements creates an anchoring point allowing an interaction between these two elongated elements to promote their mechanical strength.
As can be seen in Figure 2, the elongated elements 30a, 30b upper of the second series each have an outer section 40a, 40b which extends generally transversely to the straps 20a, 20b respectively.
According to another aspect of the invention, the elongated elements 28a, 28b of the first series and the elongated elements 30a, 30b of the second series are arranged so as to be crossed to form a first support mesh area Z2 on the first cup 12a and, by symmetry, a second mesh zone Z2 on the second cup 12b.
Preferably, each mesh zone Z2 is arranged in at least one lower half of the associated cup 12a, 12b.
The crossing of two elongated elements 28a, 28b, 30a, 30b, in each mesh zone Z1, Z2, draws a shape substantially in a cradle bringing a bidirectional elasticity to each cup 12a, 12b, as illustrated by the arrows F2 in the figure 2. This crossing makes it possible to increase the elastic restoring force of the elongated elements 28a, 28b, 30a, 30b in order to support the chest and reduce its vertical movements.
The brassiere 10 according to the invention can be manufactured according to a manufacturing process described below.
The method comprises an assembly step which consists in assembling the elongated elements 28a, 28b, 30a, 30b of the holding structure on a basic structure which forms the framework of the front part 13 of the brassiere 10.
The assembly step is followed by a molding step which consists in molding the assembly constituted by the assembly of the base structure and the support structure, to form the front part 13 of the brassiere 10.
The molding step is preferably carried out by thermomolding, which makes it possible to give volume to the two cups 12a, 12b and to strengthen the mechanical connection between the base structure and the support structure.
According to a first embodiment of the method, the assembly step consists in bringing the elongated elements 28a, 28b, 30a, 30b onto the basic structure of the bra 10 by screen printing.
According to this first embodiment of the method, the elongated elements 28a, 28b, 30a, 30b are preferably made of silicone, which makes it possible to lighten the bra while offering a satisfactory elastic return.
As an indication, the material used to manufacture the basic structure of the front part 13 of the brassiere 10 has a molding temperature lower than the melting temperature of the silicone so that the elongated elements 28a, 28b, 30a, 30b retain their physical characteristics of elasticity.
According to a preferred example, the basic structure is made of knitting of the three-dimensional type, called “3D knitting”, or of a three-dimensional monofilament separation fabric, composed of 89 percent of polyamide fibers and 11 percent of elastane fibers, and with a density of 375 grams per square meter.
According to a second embodiment of the method (not shown), the assembly step consists in assembling by heat bonding the front part of the bra 10 which comprises a superposition of a front front layer and a rear layer intended to be in contact with the skin, the front front layer and the rear layer forming the basic structure.
In addition, an intermediate layer is interposed between the front front layer and the rear layer.
The intermediate layer here forms the internal holding structure, the elongated elements 28a, 28b, 30a, 30b being cut from the intermediate layer, for example in the form of thin strips according to a laser cutting process.
According to this second embodiment of the method, the intermediate layer is preferably made of three-dimensional monofilament separation fabric of the type composed of 87 percent of polyester fibers and 13 percent of elastane fibers, and having a density of 255 grams per square meter.
Similarly, the front front layer is preferably made of jersey of the type composed of 80 percent of polyamide fibers and 20 percent of elastane fibers, and having a density of 80 grams per square meter.
Also, the rear layer is preferably made of jersey of the type composed of 78 percent of polyamide fibers and 22 percent of elastane fibers, and having a density of 330 grams per square meter.
According to a third embodiment of the method (not shown), the assembly step consists in embroidering the elongated elements 28a, 28b, 30a, 30b on the basic structure of the bra 10.
The elongated elements 28a, 28b, 30a, 30b are for example elastically deformable wires which are resistant to heat.
In fact, according to this third embodiment, the step of molding the assembly formed by the elongated elements 28a, 28b, 30a, 30b and the basic structure is preferably carried out by heat molding.
Finally, according to an alternative embodiment of the embodiments described above, the method comprises a single molding step which consists in simultaneously molding the base structure 11 and the holding structure made of material in one piece, to form the front part 13 of the bra 10.
For this purpose, the basic structure and the holding structure of the brassiere 10 are for example placed in a mold and thermo-molded together, so as to assemble and shape them simultaneously.
The present description of the invention is given by way of nonlimiting example.

1. Bra (10) suitable for sports, of the type comprising:
- a first cup (12a) and a second cup (12b) which belong to a front part (13) before the bra (10) and which are each delimited laterally by an outer edge (14a, 14b) and by an edge interior (16a, 16b), and
- a dorsal fixing strip (18) which is connected to the outer edge (14a) of the first cap (12a) and to the outer edge (14b) of the second cap (12b), characterized in that each cap (12a, 12b ) is equipped with a holding structure and a base structure (11), the holding structure of each cup (12a, 12b) comprising at least a first strip (25a, 25b) for holding the shape generally in a cradle which is elastically deformable and which extends at least from the outer edge (14a, 14b) to the inner edge (16a, 16b) of the associated cup (12a, 12b), to support the chest.
